He discovered his vocation for painting very early and possesses a solid technical training. He draws his knowledge from painters exposed in the Louvre or the Prado museums where he likes to go regularly.

Since 2011, Juan Carmona Vargas worked mainly on landscape that led him to be interested in ancient Chinese painters of Taoist tradition while freeing himself from his dogmas and his formal archetypes. A long exposure on the subject took place in Cadiz in 2017.
